
BELIZE BANK BULLDOGS’ JUDSON STUBBS NOW PLAYS IN THE CBA FOR THE OKLAHOMA CAVALRY

2007 Semi-Pro Basketball Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Belize Bank Bulldog, Judson Stubbs is now playing in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for the Oklahoma Cavalry. Their season got underway on November 17 and concludes on March 9, 2008. So far, they have played a total of eleven games, winning six, while losing five. Judson is presently averaging 7.6 ppg 4.8 rpg in just about twenty-four minutes of play per game, while shooting a respectable 43% from the field and 71 % from the charity stripe. His single game high so far for this season has been 19 pts 12 rebs. The team is coached by former Chicago Bulls’ Cliff Livingston.
The CBA is a professional men basketball league in the United States. The league serves as a developmental league for the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is associated with USA basketball, the governing body of basketball in the United States of America.
According to Judson, he plans on returning to Belize next year to once again play for the Belize Bank Bulldogs.
OTHER BASKETBALL NOTES
· A Mexican basketball contingent consisting of U-12 & U-15 players visited Belize and played three friendly matches against Belize on Tuesday, December 17. In the U-12 category, Belize won by the score of 38-28. Ryan Michael was the high man for Belize scoring 11 pts, while Marcos Pech led Mexico with 10 pts. In the U-15 game, Belize lost by the score of 47-31, however was able to bounce back in game three, winning by the score of 56-48. Kachief Thomas scored 28 pts for Belize, while J. Azcorra scored 21 pts for Mexico.
· The Belize Basketball Federation announces that the second annual U-26 male basketball tournament is scheduled to commence on the January 18, 2008. Registration deadline is on January 11, and only the first eight teams that register will be permitted to participate.
